How can I get the other driver's insurance co. to pay the full cost of rental car? I was hit from behind and the other driver's insurance company has accepted liability but, they only want to reimburse me about $27/day for a rental car when I'll have to pay around $50/day. They are also dictating to me some terms about the duration of the rental car period based on the number of shop hours estimated for repair. I am wondering if there is some leverage I can use to make them pay 100% of the rental car cost for a reasonable car and duration. car insurance. Auto parts : Jack Mount Jaguar 1997. How long would it take for someone to teach me how to shift gears on a motorcycle if I already drive a scooter? My 250cc scooter is obviously an automatic. I can ride it just fine, in the city or on the freeway. However, I've never ridden a motorcycle. (I have owned stick-shift cars though.) I want to buy a motorcycle, but it's gonna be hard to test drive it (and ride it home) if I can't shift it! So, if I post an ad (on craigslist, for example) to hire someone to give me a lesson on how to shift a motorcycle (using their motorcycle), how long of a lesson would it need to be, and what would a fair price be? Suzuki . How to Check the Lower Ball Joints on a 2002 Chrysler Town & CountryThe ball joints on your 2002 Chrysler Town & Country are a critical part of your van's suspension system. The Town & Country uses two ball joints, an upper ball joint and a lower ball joint. The lower one holds the control arm and the steering knuckle together. If this joint fails, your lower suspension will come apart and could cause a fatal crash. That's why it's important to periodically check the ball joints on your Town & Country. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Tire wrench Jack Jack stands Step by Step : 1 Listen for any clunking noises when making turns. A metal-on-metal clunking noise can indicate a problem with the ball joints. 2 Loosen the lug nuts on the wheel by turning them 45 degrees counterclockwise. 3 Jack up the front of the Chrysler Town & Country using the front jack point behind the radiator. Place jack stands under the front pinch welds of the vehicle and lower the van onto the stands. 4 Finish removing the lug nuts and pull the wheel off the wheel hub assembly. 5 Visually inspect the ball joint at the bottom of the suspension where the control arm connects to the steering knuckle. If the protective rubber boot on the ball joint is ripped or torn, the ball joint needs to be replaced. 6 Grab the ball joint and try to force it back and forth in an attempt to move the steering knuckle apart from the lower control arm. You should not be able to move it with your hands. If you can, the ball joint needs to be replaced.
Suzuki . Toyota Corolla Ball Joint RemovalThe ball joint on the Toyota Corolla works with the car's steering and suspension, much like the ball-and-socket joint in a person's hip. The ball joint can wear down over time and cause the car to shimmy or make the steering erratic. The joint must be as securely fastened to the steering knuckle and control arm as possible. If you ever remove a ball joint from the Corolla, keep this in mind when you reinstall it, whether it's the same ball joint or a replacement. Ball Joint Removal Raise the car with a normal jack and then support it on jack stands; even if you're only working on one wheel, it helps to raise the whole car or at least the full front end. It also helps to loosen the lug nuts on the wheel you'll be removing before you raise the car so the wheel will be easier to remove. Remove the cotter pin from the ball joint stud, then loosen the stud's nut; do not remove the nut yet. There is not much clearance between the ball joint stud and the CV joint; you'll likely need an open-ended wrench. To separate the ball joint from the steering knuckle, use a ball joint separator tool that resembles a picklefork. Once the ball joint is separated, continue to remove the stud nut. You need to back off of the nut after a turn or two, pull down on the stud and give the nut another turn or two until the nut is completely off. Remove the nuts and bolt securing the ball joint to the control arm and then use a pry bar to separate the ball joint from the control arm.
